What is your Geo journey?
2022 has gone by incredibly quickly with many new experiences and accomplishments. Since starting Geo as an apprentice I have been doing a qualification in Business Administration while being a Website Developer on the job. I am proud to say that I have completed my apprenticeship earning a grade of Distinction. The course taught me many things and helped me gain valuable life and job experiences that I can take into the future. I have learnt a great deal, from developing my coding knowledge in HTML, PHP, CSS Javascript and WordPress, best practices within the industry, my general experience within the industry, communicating more with clients and developing my confidence.

What have you been working on?
While at Geo I have worked on a variety of interesting projects with amazing brands and people that have helped me develop my knowledge, experience and confidence. Over the last few years, I have built multiple sites including DigitalGeo, Chegworth Valley, Steve James, The Wine Weekend, Maidfest, Copper bottom investments, Expertise Homecare & a web-based annual report for Southern Coop… as well as working on other projects as a support developer on many other websites.

What has been your favourite Geo highlight?
My favourite Geo highlight so far has been the entire experience of working in a team that values the work and activities. Such as going to Puttshack, Geo boat trips and Paddleboarding (which I don’t think I’ll be doing again anytime soon lol).

What’s next?
Looking towards the future, I hope to continue to develop in my role to widen my knowledge, gain more experiences and continue to learn new things like building more advanced websites, Adobe After Effects, CRM systems and much more.

Your advice for those looking to get into the creative industry…
I would recommend doing an apprenticeship as it allows you to gain valuable experience in an industry-based role. It’s easier to learn as you go and allows you to get your foot in the door within the industry, build your confidence and boost your personal development in multiple areas.

Anything you’d like to add?
I was given an amazing opportunity to join the Geo team a few years ago and I’m glad to say I have joined an incredible team that values the work we do, working with each other and our clients to produce outstanding work.
